iPads and AirPods Manufacturing in India: Tech giant Apple may soon start manufacturing its iPads and AirPods in India. According to a report, Apple is working on a big plan for India. If everything goes well, Apple’s iPads and AirPods will be manufactured in India. The company is also looking for a partner for the production of its gadgets in India.

Earlier in 2021, the company had also thought of working with Chinese company BYD in the country. But being a Chinese company, Apple did not get permission from the Indian government.

Production of gadgets may start soon

According to a Moneycontrol report, a senior government official said that BYD was ready to set up a factory for iPad in India but due to India’s bad relations with China, permission was not given to set up the factory. But now it is not so. Things have changed. According to the government official, Apple is being helped in the country in the coming two to three years.

The government official further said that India should also consider making laptops and desktops in the country in the future. Apart from this, the company has also shared its big plans for India with the government. Apple wants to create a new supply chain in the country with these plans.

Will manufacturing start from next year?

If reports are to be believed, the company will start manufacturing Apple AirPods in India from next year. For this, the company has also increased its manufacturing level to a great extent. In this episode, Apple will work with American company Jabil on the parts used in AirPods. Currently, these parts are exported from China and Vietnam.

The company has also started trial production for this in Pune. Apple has been assembling iPhones in the country since 2017. The company has three contract manufacturers in India for this. The company plans to manufacture 25% of iPhones in India in the coming 3-4 years.
